Should You Use Twitter for Manufacturing Marketing?

Why is Twitter valuable? Twitter is valuable because its users number in the tens of millions, and those millions of users are decentralized. Twitter can be accessed from a phone in German just as easily as from a computer in the US. Twitter allows you to build professional networks as well as reach out to your followers. Twitter can be used to announce events, specials, deals, and new content. Unlike other forms of content that you will create, Twitter content is fast and easy to create.

You can add links to your tweets, but the  tweet itself cannot exceed 140 characters. When you are getting started, a nice, clean background is a must. Avoid distracting and overcrowded backgrounds. Also, fill out your profile information completely, linking to your website homepage.

The key to Twitter, like all other inbound marketing strategies, is to create relevant content. With Twitter, you also want to focus on being timely. Keeping abreast of the issues and terms that are trending in your industry is a must. You want your followers to know that when they need information about your industry, you can provide it.

Having social media sharing buttons on your website will drive your leads to your Twitter account where, hopefully, they will choose to follow you. You can also gain followers from within your industry by following others in your industry, and taking part in discussions about your industry. Re-tweets, when a user literally re-tweets a tweet from another user, will help you be found and gain followers, as well.

Consistency of your content is key. You need to show up in your followers feeds or you aren't going to grow your following. Tweeting at least once a day, more if you can, is recommended so that your tweets never get "stale" and so that you continue to maintain a presence in your followers feeds.

Your tweets can also be used as content on your website, and you can use your tweets to drive traffic to content on your website. For example, you create a new blog post and want to make sure your followers know about it. You can tweet a link to the blog post, which will drive traffic to your content. You also maintain a feed of your tweets on your website, so when visitors come to your website they see not only the blog post, but your tweets as well. Two pieces of content are generated out of one idea. This strategy can also be used for Facebook posts so that one piece of content, the blog post, creates, at least, three pieces of content over all.
